Travel With Kids: Surprise In Samui

Our youngest boy, Kipling, had long golden hair that hadn’t been cut since birth. Here is he (in blue) and his brother having a crepe as our trip begins.Getting a crepe in Chaweng, Ko Samui

So as a surpise to my wife I decided one morning to get him a haircut while she was out shopping. I’m not sure, is that a happy look?

The very friendly person in Chaweng, Samui.

I wish I had a picture of him coming around the corner to our hotel room with my wife sitting on the porch. It took her a good 5 seconds to recognize him.

Hotel Tips

www.HotelsCombined.com – The absolute best for finding deals and discounts. It searches hundreds of other sites and finds the best rate for any given hotel. Simply awesome!

Booking.com – Great for when you already know the hotel you want to stay in. Its very generous cancellation policy is the big perk.

  1. Ooh, I like both version — the curls are sweet too. But the stylist did a nice job on his hair. Was he often mistaken for a girl, before? It happens to our son a lot, even when he’s wearing his Darth Vader outfit.

    • Ya, I like both styles too. My older son had very similar hair for the first few years and he was mistaken for a girl all the time. The younger one though was much bigger boned and boyish so he didn’t get it nearly as much.
